Alcohol and drugs

Alcohol or drugs are involved in about 1 in 3 of the fatal crashes on our roads as well as numerous serious injury crashes.

Ending this scourge on our roads will require new initiatives in education, enforcement, rehabilitation and engineering.

In particular, the AA is campaigning for increased rehabilitation for repeat drink drivers and introducing saliva-based roadside drug testing like they use in Australia.
