I am looking at buying a 2018 Hyundai sonata through a dealer. I have found out it is an ex rental. The rental company had it for approx 12 - 18 months and it has done 35000km. The dealer has had it for about 4 - 5 months. What should I be looking out for given it has had multiple drivers. I am unsure about buying ex rentals but dont know whether this is based on fact or perception. What questions should I be asking the dealer? How can I know whether a vehicle has been mechanically thrashed by the rental drivers?

Hi there,
You may never really know how it's been treated and it could have even had some cosmetic touch-ups. As long as the servicing was regular, you can often buy a newer car than otherwise was in your price range. As long as you are not paying top dollar it could be worth the risk, but at least you know the vehicle background, which is more that can be said for Japanese Imports.
