I am considering a 2009 Fielder with just 15K on the clock. It is an import.. a private sale, bought just a year ago. That seems a ludicrously low mileage.... the seller insists the mileage is AA certified. What is the car worth if in A1 condition and should I be suspicious? PS I hate buying used cars, being cynical... and being a mug.

Hi there,
A 2009 Fielder in "As new" condition would be valued as a private sale around $11k asking price. the only downside on a low mileage vehicle is that it could have a small negative effect on a few components. The exhaust could be rusting from the inside-out as it has not had a lot of hot long runs to burn off all the condensation that builds up inside. The engine could be a bit gummed up inside as it also has not had a lot of hot running and pretty much like running with the choke on (for example) all the time. Tyres might be still original and would be very hard and might even be starting to crack. So might be good the check a few things before purchasing something with mileage so low.
