Hi, I am looking for a new car to replace my mazda atenza wagon, I would like a car with the capacity to tow a small boat no problems, what would be the minimum specifications I should be looking for, preferably a wagon and not a SUV. Cheers

Maybe look into vehicles like the Subaru Legacy or Outback wagon, or upgrade to a newer Atenza/Mazda 6. There are European cars like Audi A4 or BMW 3-series.

Thanks, do I need a certain engine size/power, ie 2.5 or 3 litre and higher, or not so much an issue these days?

It would really depend on the weight you intend to tow. If the trailer and boat combo are fairly heavy (1,500kg+), then you would have a better tow with a larger engine capacity.

Yes this would be a good engine size rating to start for a petrol engine 2.4+
