Can or does your pre purchase report on second hand 2013 Subaru report on whether the vehicle is cambelt or chain drive ? and can you check whether the cambelt is new'ish ?

The report will state if the engine is cam belt or chain driven, and if a replacement sticker is available to be seen they will mention it, otherwise they will refer you to get this checked by a mechanic who can remove the covers to inspect further. The PPI is a visual inspection only, and unless there is evidence it has been replaced even a visual check is not always definitive.
