Hi, I’m considering buying an Aussie statutory write off from a private seller in NZ. The car has been registered here since 2019. Does the seller have to provide me with proof of what work was carried out? If not, where canI find the necessary info? I do have the rego details.

Hi there,
The seller has to disclose that the vehicle was imported as damaged, but the specifics of what was carried out to get it on the road in NZ is private to the person who imported the vehicle and went through the repair and compliance process.
This information is also not available to the general public as it is filed within the Waka Kotahi NZTA.
An inspection of the vehicle should be able to tell you if the vehicle looks to be in a satisfactory condition.
