Mercedes A160, 1999 $8450 done 96K - what are your thoughts on this vehicle please (to buy).

Does the engine have a cam belt or chain and are there any other nasty hidden costs involved in this vehicle?

I would be very careful considering this vehicle. They have a growing reputation for automatic transmission problems which are very expensive to repair.

I attended an auction recently and noticed there were a number of them offered for sale.

Buying via this channel means its very much buyer beware as there are no warranties and issues with transmissions may be impossible to detect with the short drive programme allowed.

The engine has a timing chain.
