I have just test driven a Hyundai Santa Fe 2002 2.4 litre. The problem is that it is an import from Korea which was imported in 2006 and has had one owner since then.

Is this a potential problem?

It has travelled 59,000km and the seller is asking $15,000.

You have to press the button on the key when you turn it on or the alarm goes off and also it automatically locks you in when you start driving!

Used imports from Korea are very rare and for this reason I would be very careful.

For me it would be high risk and it may be a vehicle that Hyundai NZ would not fully support in NZ. There could be a number of technical and specification level differences.

The locking of the doors is quite normal for imports out of Japan and is seen as a security measure for drivers and passengers.

Not for me Michelle, for the money you have to spent I'm sure you could do better looking at NZ new.
