I've just bought a 2017 Ford Escape 1.5L ecoboost. It has a start/stop feature. What are the pros and cons of using this feature? I'm wondering whether the frequent engine starts will cause problems or wear and tear? Cheers
Hi there,
Because these features are incorporated into the design of modern vehicles, all the components associated have been strengthened to cope. The battery and starter motor are of a higher capacity as with the wiring and electrical system so there should be no abnormal wear and tear associated. As opposed to if the system was simply an add on feature of a vehicle not designed with stop/ start in mind.
Great, thanks so much!!
