Yapper

I recently made an unsuccessful CGA claim with Hyundai NZ in respect to a fully serviced i30 S/w where at 60k the transmission valves failed and the repair bill was $1700. At their instruction I had it inspected and repaired at an official Hyundai dealer who were unable or unwilling to advise me why this part failed after such low kilometres. Hyundai eventually refused to satisfy my CGA claim based on the fact that the vehicle was not serviced ‘within their network.’ It was however regularly serviced by a large and reputable car dealership in Wellington who in the absence of any evidence or suggestion by Hyundai to the contrary did nothing to cause or fail to prevent this part failure. I’m sure my I’m not alone in my view that despite 7 years having passed this transmission part should have been good for the life of the transmission which in turn should be good for the life of the car. Interested to know if anyone else knows of similar failures as I’m off to the Motor Vehicle Dispute Tribunal.
