Hi there, I have a 2010 Toyota Ractis NCP100 which is 1.5L with about 52000k on the clock. My mechanic suggested me to replace CVT fluid and recommended to use ENEOS CVT Fluid (maybe called model T-FE or ECO). What are the differences between TOYOTA CVT FLUID FE and ENEOS Model T-FE CVT Fluid? I checked the owner manual said use Toyota CVT fluid TC. These two Toyota CVT fluid colors are red, and ENEOS Model T-FE is red and ECO is blue according to ENEOS' datasheet. What are the CVT fluid colors represented? What is CVT fluid replacement interval? Every 40k or 60K? I know my mechanic and truth him, but should I change CVT fluid in Toyota? However, Toyota charges more expensive than my mechanic as he charges me between $140 to $160. I am looking forward to having your reply & much appreciated.

Hi there,
Because the car is an import, you are often relying on service information Toyota has for similar transmission in vehicles that they have here NZ new- (Corolla and Yaris for example). Otherwise you will be trusting a transmission specialist' recommendations. I am not sure what the differences in fluid are, sometimes they come from the same source and a vehicle manufacturer has additives or just change the change the name to suit their vehicle applications. Generally there is an aftermarket fluid type that meets the same criteria as the factory recommendations and can be used as an alternative (I'm not aware if fluid colour makes a difference)
