On routine service a transmission oil leak was found between the bell housing and the engine block. How likely is it that this is related to earlier work done in November last year when the transmission control module was replaced?

Hello if the transmission control module you are talking about is physically attached to the gearbox and fluid filled ie a powershift type of transmission, I would check this first for leaks, If not it is unlikely to be related.
