I use a steering wheel lock on my Demio 2000 as my garage has no door and cars have been stolen on my street. A year ago it was stolen parked elsewhere when i didn't use the lock. So I now use it often when parked. This morning they key wouldn't open the lock so I rang AA but managed to get it undone in time to cancel the visit. My question - my lock is a Prolock SS and is 10 years old. What kind of locks does AA suggest and should mine now be replaced. I live on top of a hill so being without the car is difficult. Thanks

Hi there,
We've not tested any particular brand of steering lock. However Repco for example lists four types available, with all but one physically the same type. the price ranges from $21.99 -$81.99 so this might dictate preference as they are all designed to do the same job. https://www.repco.co.nz/en/search/?text=steering+lock

Thanks. I did get mine from Repco and it was $72 10 years ago so price doesnt seem veryhelpful to me. I might ask the Police for their opinion. Thanks
