2019 Subaru XV. Seems to be extremely prone to premature windscreen cracking in very ordinary use. We have had 4 significant windscreen chips in 15 months despite not doing anything different in our driving to what we have been doing for many years. And our other vehicles have never had an issue like this. What is going on?

We've not heard if any changes to the windscreen or issues arising in the XV as yet. I recommend asking a Subaru agent.
