I have a 2012 Peugeot RCZ which has done 20,000 km.
It has had a whirring sound in the rear of the vehicle. In December last the petrol pump failed and a new one was installed due to water and debris in the fuel tank.
For the last few weeks the noise had returned and it was discovered that water and debris is back in the fuel tank.
Any suggestions what is causing this. Had only travelled about 700 km on the new pump.

Hi there,
Was it documented that the tank was emptied and all the water and contaminates were removed? The most likely way for water to get into the tank is via the service station pump. Do you use the same station for fuel?

Hi Cade,
Yes the fuel tank was emptied. The mechanic also said the water had probably come from the petrol station.
I always had filled up at Pak and Saves pump. After the new pump was fitted I only went to BP Lower Hutt which had a high turnover of petrol sales.
