Hello,

I own a 2005 Honda Civic Hatchback VTEC. The battery has been going flat even though the car is stationary. Some weeks ago it was restarted by an AA man who said that there was a problem with the ABS brakes. I didn't understand what the brakes had to do with it so I just went out and purchased a new battery. Now in the last two days that battery ( purchased about a month ago) has gone flat. I have been told by my brother to take out the ABS fuse but I haven't yet. I'm not sure if that will work and of course the ABS will then not work either. Could you please advise me of the technical issue that has arisen and why the battery keeps draining while the car is stationary.

Thank you.

Hi it sounds like the technician is suspecting a voltage draw issue when the vehicle is sat idle. In order to more accurately diagnose this issue you should take your vehicle to an Auto electrician for an assessment.
