My indicator lights are faulty in that sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. But even when they are not working (flashing on and off) the light still stays on.

Because the lights are illuminating it shows that the circuit is working, so the first port of call may be checking the bulbs and their rating is correct, and then the flasher unit, it can be very easy to install a 24 volt bulb into a 12volt system
