Hi,
We own a 2001 Mercedes Sprinter campervan, 4 berth, diesel.

Can someone help me work out what the running costs are per km ?

I appreciate your help.

Based on the AA's 2011 running costs it would be around 80cents per km.

Our costs are based on ownership of a new vehicle over 5 years however and take into account amongst other things interest on outlay and depreciation.

For a vehicle of this age where the initial outlay and depreciation is less, you may have to pull that figure back a little.

If it helps, the IRD has a flat bussiness reimburstment rate of 74 cents per km.

Working on your vehicle having a fuel consumption of around 8.5 litres per 100k's and travelling up to 14,000km's per year, the actual fuel costs only would be around the 27cents per km mark.
