Hi

The above vehicle is my personal vehicle which I use for work purposes.

I note that the 0.78 rate applies to vehicles within the first 5 years of their life due to depreciation etc.

Obviously my car has depreciated as far as it can so I need to adjust the daily running expenses.

Can you advise what this rate should be so I can negotiate a rate accordingly

cheers

You may be better to simply use the current Inland Revenue Department's rate of 74 cents per kilometre. They use this flat rate irrespective of make/model or age/mileage of vehicle.

If you exceed 5,000km of work related travel in one reimbursement period, you need to operate a log book and note any additional costs you wish to claim for.

Working out an individual rate is almost impossible as costs can change dramatically depending on maintenance and general repairs carried out over a specific period.
