We have just purchased a petrol Mitsubishi Outlander 2012...(newer shape.) 2.4l. What petrol would be best to use 95 or 98?
Thank you.

Hi there,
Our specs show the 2.4 Outlander as using 91 octane fuel, however you can try both 95 and 98 and see if any gains outweigh the increased fuel price.

What sort of gains would you look out for with the higher octane types?

Hi,
It would depend totally on vehicle type and user operation, most may not see any benefit from running a higher octane fuel. Some might say the car runs smoother, uses less fuel and might have a slight performance increase up a certain hill.
