HI,
I bought a car Suzuki cultus(95 model) in May this year with a fresh W.O.F (private owner) .After the purchase soon it started to give trouble .
Its having a Squeaky fan belt, continuous click noise from outer CV joints while turning, and engine oil leak. Expensive repairs costing 1100 dollars.
I have taken it to the disputes tribunal ,so could you please advise .
During a W.O.F inspection do they check fan belt condition,CV joint condition, and engine oil leak.
If they do so will the above said problems lead to a PASS or FAIL W.O.F inspection.
Thank you.

Hi there,
You would be best get the opinion of a WoF inspector, but a noisy belt, cv joint and oil leaks in general might not fail a wof, unless they impacted a safety item checked as part of that wof check. For example oil might be leaking onto a rubber steering belt and cause it to become contaminated, it might fail a wof because it affects the steering- the belt is the item that has failed for significant deterioration- but is caused by the oil leak . It would be up to the inspector to decide what the vehicle looked and operated like on the day of the inspection.
