Hi there

Do you know what the absolute legal rules are for displaying a license plate on a motorbike?

All I can find is that it must be "clearly visible".

My husband's is side mounted, but is clearly visible even from the opposite side.
The numbers do not bend around.

A cop today was going to give him a ticket... but didn't in the end.

Thank you

Hi there,
The NZTA state that "All plates must be fixed securely to the vehicle in an upright position. They must be displayed so that all the characters (numbers and letters) are clearly visible at all times.
A motorcycle, moped, tractor, trailer or trade plate must be fixed on the rear of the vehicle."

Thank you

What is the definition of “upright”.

If the digits are “up-right” is this legal.
Thanks again

Hi there,
It says the plate must be in an upright position- doesn't mention the content orientation.

Hi
Could you point me to the section and the act relevant to affixing the plate as I can't seem to find it.
That would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance
Terry
