Hi, when bringing an Australian trailer (caged, 6x4) to NZ, does it need a NZ wof and rego to be legal on our roads? Thanks!

Hi there,
Absolutely, you can register a trailer, purchase number plate and obtain a wof at most drive-in testing station inspection centres.

Thanks for that. Do you know rough costings for wof+plate+rego assuming it goes through any tests okay?

According to the NZTA website a trailer under 3,500kg first 12 months rego with plate costs $98.55 plus the actual wof inspection which could vary around $35-$40.
