Can we install a seat with seatbelt legally in the back of a Ute for a passenger in New Zealand?

Hi there,
Vehicle seats, seatbelts and their anchorages must meet certain standards requirements at the time the vehicle was built. So any aftermarket fitments would need to meet the criteria for LVV Low Volume Vehicle certification. So I would recommend seeing what their guidelines are and if in fact they would be able to certify this type of modification and if it would be legal to do so. https://www.lvvta.org.nz/
