My daughter's car failed its WoF the other day. It has some body rust. I was surprised when I saw the report because the inspector simply stopped writing as soon as he noticed the rust (in the wings over the front wheels). That seems very unfair. My daughter now has a difficult choice: she can get the rust fixed, but she does not know if there will be other issues when she presents the car again.

My question is this: is the company within its rights to charge her for an incomplete check or can she ask them to finish the inspection?

Hi there,
The company should have carried out the full inspection as this is what you paid for and asked them to do. I recommend asking them to complete the wof inspection.
