My son has a left ankle injury and is currently wearing a moonboot. Since the car is an automatic and he only needs to use his right leg to drive, is he allowed to drive legally?

Hi there,
The NZTA would be the ones to say the legal aspects of driving while injured.
The driver would have to make sure that 1, they are not distracted by having an injury and 2, physically able to carryout all driving responsibilities in a safe manner (left foot clear of the brake pedal at all times)

Thanks for the advice. Since my car insurance is with AA, if his injury does not cause any distractions to his driving, will it affect the policy or claim in the event if there is any accident or unfortunate incident?
