This SUV features the legendary Quattro AWD system, 221kW engine which can get you to 100kmh in 4.8 seconds and S sport suspension lowers the ride height 20mm. Oh, and it looks fantastic in blue!

At heart, the SQ2 is a vehicle that is happy to be both rugged and youthful with the already bold defined exterior construction further enhanced for the S model. The front especially striking with wedge-shaped LED headlights, high position of the Singleframe® grille and the generously sized air inlets. The rear body has a taut appearance with a long roof spoiler and the diffuser insert housing four exhaust tailpipes.

The interior of the SQ2 follows the structured and angular design language of the exterior and features black headlining and pillars as standard, while the seats also come standard in fine Nappa leather with embossed S logos. The Audi virtual cockpit comes as standard with controls for the fully digital instrument cluster on the steering wheel. The 12.3-inch display offers three different views, including a screen that places the tachometer front and centre. Our test car was equipped with the optional head up display, where all the most important information was projected through the windscreen just under the driver’s eye level.

Safety and assist features borrowed from the full-size vehicle classes have made their way into the SQ2. Audi pre-sense City is standard, using radar to recognise hazardous situations that can occur with crossing pedestrians or other vehicles in front of the car. The system warns the driver acoustically and visually, and initiates emergency braking if necessary. This can help to avoid or reduce the severity of a collision. The assist package bundles Park, Side and Active lane assist, also come as standard.

The SQ2 is a great size which is large enough to offer interior space and vehicle ground clearance that we love in an SUV but also small enough to navigate small spaces with ease. The golf clubs or child’s pram can easily fit in the boot but as with most smaller hatchbacks you may need to plan grocery bag placement when it comes shopping time.
