February 2014 petrol and diesel prices

Petrol and diesel price review: 27 February 2014

Fuel prices rose 2 cents per litre across the board on 27 February, led by Z. It’s the first price change in 6 weeks, and the first increase since late December. The price rise is not unexpected, and in line with commodity price movements; crude oil prices are up about US$3/barrel in part due to political unrest in Libya and Venezuela. Since prices fell on 15 January, the imported cost of petrol and diesel has risen about 4 and 3 cents per litre respectively, even with the improvement in the NZ dollar.
