July 2017 petrol and diesel prices

Petrol and diesel prices as at 21 July 2017

Petrol prices have increased for the first time since April, up 2 cents per litre, along with diesel. Diesel prices had already risen another 2cpl a week earlier. In the past week the commodity price of petrol has risen 2cpl, although the landed cost only rose 1.5cpl thanks to a small gain in the NZ$. In the past fortnight, the landed cost of diesel has risen a total of 3cpl, so the larger retail price rise means margins have grown slightly after being at their lowest level in a year. This time last year we were paying $1.81/litre for 91 octane, and $1.15/litre for diesel.
