Tell us something about yourself. Your background, passion etc..  

Although I lived away from Dunedin for 20 years I remained, as many people do, very loyal to all things Otago!  As a family we love travelling, so we’re hoping to be able to use the international fares we have in credit soon!  Nothing beats the sensory overload of travelling to an overseas location.

How long you have been in this business? When did you join AA Home Response? 

I became the first Marketing Manager for Foleys in August 2017, having moved to Dunedin from the Manawatu.  My previous role was Marketing Manager for Massey University.  Foleys Christchurch joined AA Home Response in April 2019, followed by our Dunedin and then Oamaru branches later in 2019.

How has business been since your company became a contractor with AA Home Response? 

As such a trusted brand in the eyes of New Zealanders being affiliated to AA Home has been great for Foleys, plus it means we get to help even more people when they really need us.

Describe a typical day on the job…

There’s no typical day!  My role essentially is to ensure people know our brand, so when they need a plumber, gasfitter, drainlayer or electrician and they go online they recognise the name Foleys and either pick up the phone and call us or book us online.  In addition to this I feel my role is integral to increasing the service standards both for our tradespeople and for our industry as a whole.  The days of not putting the customer at the forefront of everything we do are numbered, and as we increase our service standard this in turn increases the expectations from our customers

What are the best bits? 

Undoubtedly helping people and reading the amazing feedback that we receive from our customers across all our branches.

Give us some story / experience that you cherish…  

Every day we are able to help people when they really need us.  We often have to move mountains to do this but from the time the call comes in to getting a resolution for  a customer all our staff ‘get’ the importance of our roles.  This was especially true during our recent national lock down.
