Dog Insurance
AA Pet Insurance provides cover for your dog, so that if illness or injury strikes, you have help getting the necessary treatment sorted for your four-legged friend.
Dogs come in all shapes and sizes, and so does our insurance. Our three plan options; Essentials, Comprehensive and Accident Only are designed to offer different benefits and limits.

Be confident knowing what your dog insurance covers
Pet insurance can help cover unforeseen vet bills, accidental injuries and illness. We want to make sure you’re confident in knowing what your dog is and isn’t covered for. That means reading your policy wording to understand the benefits as well as your responsibilities, and the cover limits and exclusions of your policy. You should refer to the full Policy Wording to check what is and isn’t covered.
- We cover 80% of eligible vet bills. A 20% co-payment applies per claim.
- Dental cover is an optional extra and isn’t included as part of your standard policy. Dental cover can be added to Essentials and Comprehensive plans only.
- Your dog must be eight weeks old or older on the start date of your Starter Cover or policy. Upper age limits for new policies apply to all plans.
- If your dog has any pre-existing medical conditions, we can’t cover any claims associated with that condition.
- Your premium is likely to increase, as your pet gets older.

Pet Insurance Policy Benefits**:
- AA Member and Multi-pet Discounts

AA Members can receive a 10% discount on each AA Pet Insurance policy and a further 5% Multi-pet discount for each additional policy.* Non-AA Members are eligible to receive the 5% Multi-pet discount for each additional policy. All discounts apply to the standard policy premium but not the additional cost of optional dental care.
- Holiday Cancellation Cover

If you need to cancel you holiday because your dog has a life-threatening condition, we’ll cover your holiday costs up to $500 under the Essentials plan and $1500 under the Comprehensive plan.
- Starter Cover for Puppies and Kittens

We want you to take the time to enjoy your new family addition, knowing that if accidents or illnesses occur, we’ll be here to help. That's why we offer Starter Cover for Puppies and Kittens. Starter Cover is for puppies and kittens between 8 and 20 weeks old, with no premiums payable and only $100 excess per event.

With us, you can insure dogs that are as young as 8 weeks old up to the ripe old age of their 5th or 8th birthday (depending on the breed) and there is no age limit for later renewals of cover, as long as your dog has been insured without a break.
- Optional Dental Cover

Troubles such as gingivitis, abscesses, dental disease and cavities can pop up when you least expect it. The Optional Dental Cover provides additional cover up to the value of $350 when your dog requires dental treatment for covered conditions. An additional premium will apply.
- We Cover up to 80% of Eligible Vet Bills

If, during your period of cover, your dog suffers an illness or an injury, we will reimburse you up to the limits specified in the Policy Wording for all eligible vet expenses, necessarily incurred by you to treat your pet’s condition. You will pay a 20% co-payment for each covered event.
