  • Can the pickup location and drop off locations be different? E.g. pick up from school and drop off home.

    Yes, we are happy to pick up and drop off at different locations (within reasonable distance and location). You can pre-arrange this with your instructor when they contact you to make a booking.

  • Why when I make a booking on your website do I meet the Instructor at a predetermined location and not from my home or school?

    When making your initial booking, centralised pick-ups are standard; however, at your first lesson, you will have the opportunity to discuss the possibility of your driving instructor picking you up at home or school.

  • Where can I get my Warrant of Fitness (WoF) done?

    You can find your nearest AA WoF Inspection Centre using the AA Location Finder.

  • Is it possible to pick me up from home or school?

    When making your initial booking, centralised pick-ups are standard; however, at your first lesson, you will have the opportunity to discuss the possibility of your driving instructor picking you up at another location.

  • Where do you provide mobile services for AA Pre Purchase Inspections?

    If you live in AucklandWellingtonChristchurchHamiltonHastingsNapier or Havelock North, we have mobile inspectors who can come to you. Please note that for the location to be suitable for a mobile inspection, the location must meet set criteria (i.e. the inspection area must be level and firm - concrete or similar, not gravel or grass).

  • Where is my pickup point for my Coaching Session?

    Your Coaching Session will begin and end at the location provided while booking. For the Senior Driver Coaching Session 74+, you may contact the AA Driving Instructor once the lesson is booked, to directly to ask for a home pick-up. A home pick-up may be possible at the driving instructor's discretion depending on the location and schedule of the instructor's other lessons. 

  • How can I find a new instructor if I'm moving across the country?

    If you are relocating across New Zealand, make sure you cancel your existing booking. If you cancel your booking more than 24 hours in advance, your account will be credited. You will be able to re-book your lesson in your new location if an AA Driving Instructor offers lessons there.

  • If I’m not 80 but want to do this anyway can I pay to do it? How much will it cost?

    AA Senior Driver is only for Members aged 80 plus, however there are two other options if you do not qualify for this:

    1.)    Refresher Driving Lesson – a one hour driving lesson with an instructor.

    2.)    On-Road Safety Test Practice – a practice test, similar to the real On-Road Safety Test.

    The cost of these two options varies depending on location. Please see the prices listed on our website.
