Address:
Otago Peninsula, Dunedin, New Zealand, 9077 - View the map

We have a private wildlife reserve o the Otago Peninsula that has a fur seal breeding colony, a private beach where sealions come ashore and a breeding colony of yellow eyed penguins. The multi award-winning 'Elm Wildlife Tours', judged 'New Zealand's best leisure activity', is a family company based in Dunedin, the wildlife capital of New Zealand. Our well-known Peninsula Encounters tour offers exceptional, small group wildlife experiences, visiting several spectacular sites on the Otago Peninsula including Taiaroa head Albatross area and our own exclusive wildlife conservation reserve. The reserve provides absolutely unrivaled close-up viewing of some of the world's rarest wildlife, including yellow-eyed and little blue penguins, Hooker's sea lions and New Zealand fur seals in a beautiful isolated beach location. Within our conservation area is a viewpoint to the ocean allowing close viewing of many pelagic seabirds flying by. These include many Albatross, petrel and shearwater species. Our tours include our popular "Peninsula encounters" a daily scheduled afternoon/evening tour for small groups as described above, and our "Wild Coast Explorer" itinerary, offering a private exclusive personalised scenic and wildlife experience for couples or small groups. Elm Wildlife Tours has won six New Zealand tourism and environmental awards in recognition of its practical environmental performances and the provision of exciting, rewarding wildlife experiences. Our wildlife encounter experience has been the highlight of many travellers' visits to New Zealand. The Peninsula encounter tour offers options to enhance your experience including replacing watching flying Albatross with our guide to a short ocean cruise to view the breeding area of these magnificent birds or viewing the breeding area from land or a combination of all these which is offered as our MAX tour, an eight hour tour for the wildlife obsessed. We receive many enthusiastic reviews and praise which are listed on our testimonials page and blogs such as Trip advisor. Our guides are enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about the peninsula and its rare and interesting inhabitants. We hope you can join us to find out for yourself .............
