Listed at number 3 of NZ's top classic camping grounds by the NZ Herald Wagener Holiday Park offers you a quality authentic NZ family beachside camping experience. It¹s a peaceful waterfront camping ground on a picturesque, protected East Coast harbour near the famous 90 Mile Beach and on the way to Cape Reinga. Our cabins have fabulous sea views up the Houhora Harbour, and are built to catch the morning sun. Camping options include on-site caravans, 120 power sites and a large number of non-power sites. There are sites with spectacular sea views, or ones which are more secluded, plus there's a section for those with pre-approved pets. The cabin complex includes a kitchen, lounge area and BBQ. The camp features a popular swimming pool, available wi-fi, an open gazebo and BBQ area and a children's playground. We have kayaks and SUP boards available for hire and hire fishing rods are available for surf casting off the beach. There is a boat ramp and wash facility and local boat fishing and diving charters can be booked. We can arrange the booking and pick-up for the ever-popular Cape Reinga/90 Mile Beach tours at the office. The adjacent 15km beach is popular with surfers and the swimming at the camp is safe on most tides. Located approximately 30 minutes north of Kaitaia, on all-weather sealed roads.
