Okarito is a small town on the West Coast, located 20 minutes drive from Franz Josef Glacier, and around 90 minutes drive from Hokitika. Okarito is the home of the Okarito Brown Kiwi, and sits right on the doorstep of the only White Heron nesting ground in New Zealand. The Okarito lagoon offers breathtaking scenery that can be enjoyed by boat tour or kayak, and there is easy access to a number of idyllic bush walks in the area.
Our Summit Lodge and Rimu House offer shared kitchens with full cooking facilities, and our entire complex has free WiFi internet.
