Set amongst the native trees and beautiful forests of Rotorua, Rainbow Springs Nature Park offers a fun-packed and educational experience for the whole family.
Learn about New Zealand’s natural history and meet the creatures who call this great land home.

KIWI
Rainbow Springs will get you closer to kiwi than ever before. Kiwi are shy, ground dwelling creatures who only come out under the cover of darkness. However, don’t worry about missing them during your daytime visit to Rainbow Springs as entry to our nocturnal kiwi enclosure is included in your day pass! You can also upgrade to our Kiwi Encounter Behind the Scenes Tour and see exactly how we’re helping kiwi at the largest and most successful kiwi hatchery in the world.

FREE-FLIGHT BIRD SHOW
Each day at 11.30am we run a free-flight bird show in the Rainbow Arena. During the show you will meet our colourful exotic birds, learn some fascinating facts and get to see their engaging antics! You may even be lucky enough to give our wildlife keeper a helping hand during the show!

ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS
Each day our wildlife team run many interactive animal encounters which allow you to get closer than ever to some of our favourite park residents including trout, reptiles and native birds.

BIG SPLASH
Jump aboard The Big Splash ride for a nine-minute journey of discovery! You'll learn some of New Zealand's unique stories and get a splashing good thrill at the end! Age/height restrictions apply.

PLAYSCAPE
Hidden throughout the park are some exciting new, hands-on play installations that will teach you about native species and conservation in a fun and interactive way. Find out what it’s like to see like a trout or dig for grubs like a kiwi. There’s even a large water play area so you can learn about moving water mechanically!

UNDER THE STARS
Your Rainbow Springs day pass includes repeat entry for the day of purchase until closing. This means you can come back to the park, when its dark, and meet kiwi in our outdoor no glass enclosure. This is a magical experience not to be missed!

YUMMY FOOD
Remember to swing past our cafe any time for coffee, snacks and lunch to keep you going throughout the day. We've got a fabulous new menu on offer including whitebait fritters, lamb burgers, summer tomato soup, sandwiches, salads, cakes and icecreams! You can also bring along your own picnic to enjoy in the park and there’s a large kids playpark right next to our picnic tables!.
