Named Mountain View Motel because 7 of the 11 units have views of Lake Taupo and the Mountains (Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngauruhoe). Set back from State Highway 1 in a quiet location yet only 5 minutes walk to the lake and a 10-minute walk to the many cafes, bars and restaurants - not to mention the retail therapy!
Our 2-storey units have 2 bedrooms and a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs is the kitchen, dining, and lounge area, which opens out onto the balcony. With extra beds in the lounge, some of the units can sleep up to 7. There is a ground-floor 2-bedroom unit with a private lawn area at the rear complete with BBQ. 3 of our studio units are ground-floor and 1 studio is upstairs with a balcony.
Sky Digital TV, wireless internet, telephone, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, electric blankets and a microwave are in all units. Bike storage. Off-street parking. A guest laundry is available. There is an outside play area with a slide and trampoline and a games room with a pool table and pinball machines. There is lots to do in Taupo and we can arrange a game of golf on any of 5 courses, bungy jumping, jet boating, kayaking, trout fishing, rafting, quad biking, all grades of walking and cycling, relaxing in the thermal pools, a cruise on the lake to the Maori carvings, or just enjoying a coffee at many of the al fresco cafes
