Milford Sound is the best-known and most accessible of all the fiords in Fiordland National Park.
It is also one of the wettest places in the world, raining for around 180 days each year with an average annual rainfall of 6,813mm. But the rain makes for a truly unique environment where waterfalls plummet off rainforest-clad cliffs into the sea.
