It is possible to convert the pedals on a car, but be aware, all such modifications need to be certified.

Labels need to be on the dashboard, alerting other drivers that the controls are none-standard.

A Low Volume Certifier would need to inspect the car once the work has been completed to make sure the modification meets the necessary standards which can be a reasonably expensive exercise.

Companies like Vehicle Adaption’s Limited in the Waikato specialise in work of this nature if you are looking for a name.

As an alternative, you could change your driving style and apply the brakes with the left foot.

Driving instructors are not keen on left braking and advise against it. Truth be known however, there is probably a very high percentage of drivers that do use this technique on a daily basis.

It could be argued you are putting yourself and other road users at risk by driving with a weak right foot, and with practice, you could become a much better driver by making the change.

Either way you are going to have to adapt to a change of some sort as continuing the way you are doesn’t seem to be a good or safe option.
