How often should cars be serviced. I have a Hyundai Santa fe 07 and was told every 15,000km or yearly which ever came first. Is that right?

If that is the recommended service interval that Hyundai NZ stipulate then yes, it is fine.

This particular service interval is becoming very common as manufactures work towards reducing ownership costs and improvements in manufacturing and the quality of fluids in general continue.

You don’t say whether your vehicle is Diesel or Petrol however, which could affect the recommended service interval.

Diesels often have a shorter service interval if they are used in harsh conditions.

As service intervals get pushed out further you should not forget to carry out regular checks on engine, radiator and brake fluid levels as well as tyre pressures.
