Hi, I have just purchased a 2008 Ford Falcon Fg which has done very high mileage. It is painted a very dark blue colour and it has lost it's shine even after being cleaned and 'ready for sale' by the dealership. I think it needs a good cut and polish but have heard you can't use paint cutters on newer cars because of clear coat protection. Any advice on how I can restore that original shiney, wet look just been painted look without actually having to repaint it?

Suggest you take the car to your local car paint shop or valet business and ask their opinion. Once they have inspected the paint work they will be able to tell you what will work best.

I would be very surprised if the paintwork needed any more than a good old fashion cut and polish to restore the shine.
