Hi,
Can 3 point diagonal seat belts be installed into Japanese cars to replace the middle lap belt? It is very frustrating looking for a small economical car to seat three children. Most cars have a lap belt and front passenger air bag. So wondering could we change the seat belts or airbag?

I am sure it can be done but if you retro-fit a seat belt then the modification will have to be low-volume certified. The certifier will need to be contacted prior to the work being carried out and he will need to be involved throughout the process. Tampering with the air bag system should be avoided at all times.
