I have a European car with a 50mm tow ball. And it is not one that can be replaced with a 1 7/8 inch alternative. I am in the Hutt and Wellington area. Are you aware of any hire companies that hire out trailers with 50mm couplings? Thanks Derek

Generally speaking, most small non-braked trailers available through hire companies only have 1 7/8" tow couplings. Larger tandem trailers usually have a double/reversable coupling that can hitch onto either 50mm or 1 7/8".
I believe Hirepool in your area may be able to help.

Thanks for that. The tandems are bigger (and more expensive) than I would need but that may be my only choice. The Hire pool ones are around $100 per day. I was hoping that one of the hire companies might have had some smaller trailers with the double coupling on them. Cheers
