I am considering the purchase of a toyota ipsum that is fitted with new kingstar sk70 tyres. Are these up to the task? I note from research that they are often refered to as a summer tyre.Surely that does not mean they are not good in the wet? Many thanks Tom

This is not a brand that we are very familiar with, but like many brands coming onto the New Zealand market in recent times, they are made in China (in this case, by a company called Zhanjing, we believe). While we don't believe they are a premium brand, as they are retailed here, they do need to meet certain standards.
They will be fine to use all year round, however as we don't really have any first hand experience with them, can't comment on how well they handle in the wet or what the lasting qualities may be.
Sorry we can't be of more help. With the recent influx of Chinese made tyres, a new brand that we've never heard of seems to be popping up every month!

I had kingstars fitted to a Mitsi legnum 4wd that was lowered (known for chewing tyres out on these car once lowered). They lasted for a very long time and seemed to stick to the road pretty well
