Hi
Buying a new car soon and the dealer's put new tyres on. They are http://www.primewelltires.com/PS830-PS850 but I'm not familiar with them. Can you tell me anything about them - trustworthy etc?

Or should I try to replace them with Bridgestone/ Michelin as soon a possible?

Thanks

We're not familiar with this brand, but that's not an uncommon occurance these days as the tyre market is flooded with new brands arriving weekly, most of which are made in China.
However, tyres are required to meet certain standards, so I wouldn't be alarmed by the fact that they're likely to be Chinese and we've never heard of them.
It's fair to say that dealers will usually replace worn tyres with budget replacements - nothing new in that.
To a certain degree, it depends on what type of car they're fitted to. If it's a high performance car perhaps they're not really suitable, but if it's a relatively mainstream car, these will probably be as good as any other budget brand - the likes of which have been around for years, even from brands we recognise.
I wouldn't rush out and replace them. Try them for a while and if they handle OK, are not too noisy on the road and don't wear out rapidly, they should be fine.

Hi
Thanks; it's for a 2004 1.3l Auto Toyota Passo, which I've been told is basically a rebadged Daihatsu Sirion.

Would you say the car is a reliable one; What size is the petrol tank; Fuel efficiency?

Thanks.

This car has a good reputation for reliability and fuel efficiency. The fuel tank has a 40 litre capacity and the claimed fuel consumption is 5.6L/100km, although don't expect to get the claimed figure. I'd expect you to achieve around 6.5L/100km, which is still quite frugal.
By the way, those tyres will be perfectly fine for this car.
