Hi I have a BMW 318i e46 model. I'm interested in lowering the car. Can use the existing suspensions and springs and lower from them or do I have to replace them with some other brand to lower them? Is lowering the car good or bad? Thank you.

It is illegal to cut the springs and heating the original springs must only be done by a professional who can re-temper them. Generally speaking, it's best to use new springs.
Check with a Low Volume Certifier, as the modification may need to be certified by an engineer.
As to whether or not it's a good idea, that really comes down to your preference. However, unless it is done professionally and safely, it's not a good idea.
