Hi, I was just wanting to know the regulations for reversing cameras and whether or not the can be on while in forward motion.

I'm not sure why you would want a rear facing camera operable when the vehicle is in forward motion and generally they are wired to operate in reverse only, or for a short time in forward motion after the vehicle has been reversing.
There is nothing in the WoF regulations and the only thing we can find in the transport regulations relating to these types of display, refers to them being acceptable if they are for the safe operation of the vehicle. Therefore, I suppose if you wanted it to give an image of a trailer etc, that could possibly deemed to be "for the safe operation" of the vehicle, so would be OK.
There are some new cars on the market today that give a rear view on the screen when the vehicle is indicating to turn, which again, is for the safe operation of the vehicle, giving a view of the road behind when you are about to turn.
This raises the question of whether a rear view camera operating in forward motion is any different from a rear view mirror - arguably not??
Therefore, I can see no reason why a rear view camera couldn't be wired to operate when the vehicle is in forward motion - especially if there is a legitimate safety reason for its purpose.
