I have just purchased an '07 Mazda Demio for my wife, & she regularly gets a shock when she hops out of the vehical. Is there anything that can be done to eliminate this problem?

Some people find by fitting an anti-static strap to the vehicle it reduces this problem. However, it cannot always be avoided and even the type of clothing we wear can increase the chances of a shock.

Try the anti-static strap and let us know if it makes any difference - ensure it is fitted correctly as it needs to make contact with the road surface.

Hello Prestonr, Static straps are a waste of time. I have a money back guarantee way of preventing static shocks and its free! ALWAYS!! grab hold onto the A pillar of the vehicle with your right hand or the metal door frame around the drivers door window BEFORE your foot touches the ground, then when you exit the vehicle the potential difference that the driver or passenger has built up on their clothes will conduct through your shoe and through the entire surface area of your hand.
