Hi,
Just bought a 2007 Mazda sport hatch. Excellent condition. Just wondering how can I best maintain it? Toyota have a product called gardx that protects the paintwork and leather interior with a lifetime guarantee.
I was quoted $800 to have gardx applied to the interior leather and exterior paintwork. But as part of the process I notice I still have to apply something to the car once a month anyway.
Unfortunately we have no garage so car will be exposed to Wellington elements 24/7. Time and space limitations makes washing and polishing the car difficult so a 'magic' protector meaning I don't have to do anything except occasional car wash would be great... but does it exist?
I was thinking to just take it in to the local BP car wash machine once every 6 weeks for a wash and polish. Or are these car wash machines not good for the car?
I called Mazda but they were dubious about the gardx product. Who could give me reliable advice on how to keep the car paint and leather still looking good in 5-10yrs time?

Seeing that your car will be parked outside it's a good idea to get the gardx treatment. It's expensive but in the long run it should help protect your paintwork and upholstery - they can also give you good advice on how to treat the leather.

As long as the car wash is brushless, they are fine.
