I have just bought a Japanese import. When the ignition is started, a Japanese lady makes an announcement. She also talks at other times during the drive. Which accessory is responsible for this and how do I get rid of the announcements?

It sounds like the on-board computer or navigation unit (if fitted) is the culprit. I suggest you take the vehicle to the applicable franchise for the brand of vehicle to have a look and suggest a way to remove the announcements.
